Eligibility

All artists over the age of 18 who accept the terms and conditions of the Guidelines for Participation.

Original artworks using watermedia techniques (watercolor, liquid acrylics, acrylics, gouache etc) on paper.

The artworks must be painted by the artists themselves and cannot not be copies of works of other artists.

Works must be completed within the past three years.

Each artist has the right to submit up to 4 (four) watercolors. Only one may be selected.

 

 

Submission of Works

Form

The artist has to fill the Submission Form (which can also be downloaded from the website and blog of WI). The form must be submitted along with the photos of the watercolors to wi3participants@gmail.com . One form per painting.

Photos/JPEGS

JPEGS of works must be 300 dpi, 1200 pixels in the longest dimension.

The files must be names like this: [Last name]_[First name]_[Title]_[dimensions]_[Country]_[email], i.e. Saunders_John_Still Life with Books_38x56cm_USA_johnsaunders19290@hotmail.com  .

 

By submitting, the participants agree that the organizer can use the pictures of the submitted paintings for the purpose of publicizing and promoting the exhibition.

Entry Fee

Submission is open from 3 February 2025.

Early Bird Entry Fee till 28 February is 20 euros for one or two paintings, 5 for each additional one (maximum number of paintings is 4 – four).

Entry Fee after 1 March is 28 euros for one or two paintings, 6 for each additional one.

Payment can be done by PayPal to wi3participants@gmail.com

Entries will not be considered for selection if the fee is not paid.

The fees will not be refunded for non-selected artwork.

Online Exhibition

The paintings will be presented in an online 3-D Virtual Exhibition.

An e-catalogue of the paintings will be issued as well (downloadable and printable).

 

Sales

The paintings may be for sale. There will be a commission of 20% on sales. In case of a sale, the artist is responsible of shipping the painting to the buyer.

 

Awards

Several Awards will be given, including Cash Awards, Art Material Awards while

• the Grand Prize will include the Invitation to exhibit in the next Watercolor International Biennial in Thessaloniki (WI7), plus 3 days lodging in a hotel in Thessaloniki during the 7^th edition of the Biennial Exhibition
• the Second Prize will include the Invitation to exhibit in the next Watercolor Biennial in Thessaloniki.
